Bite my shiney metal a$$!
Anyone seen a "ruler" add-in for VS2005 ?

What I would really like is a way to set the wrapping widths on various type of code... eg  //, /// and /*  all wrap at 80cols,  C# code not to wrap...

However... in my waking hours... a ruler or even somthing that can just make a semi-transparent highlight of the area beyond my "no-go for comments zone"  would even be worth money to me... LOL.

...anyone ??

I've been using this program for years.  It isn't a visual studio add in, but it allows you to measure pixels on screen (in an application...).  The thing I like most is you can use the keyboard to move it around.  It allows you to get very precise with your measurements.

I still think their "classic" skin is the best.  Its simple and gets the job done.  They don't include it anymore, but you can download it from their site.

I just noticed that they've added an API.  Maybe its possible to use the API to integrate in VS2005??
Check out this blog entry to at least add a guide line to VS, it works for both 2003 and 2005.

I have mine set for "RGB(192,192,192) 80".

Yep, I'm with you on this one.

I would like a semi-transparent line at 80 columns, similar to the Netbeans IDE. Big Smile

EDIT: The pluralsight link above works perfectly.  I wonder why they hide such a useful feature from the Option dialogs?
