consuming webservices

yet another WinFX fan!
I can’t consume different web services while I am using the university network. is there a list of the minimum network permissions required to be able to consume web services? the webservices are inside and outside the university network.

If you are able to surf the web you are able to consume web services. They work over Port 80 and are XML based.

By default they work under TCP, but i remember reading you can use a different protocol as well.
