installing winfx problems

i'm trying to install the winfx beta 2 runtime but the installation doesn't work since it stops with a typical program exception when it reaches 20 mb of 24 mb at downloading. that's very annoying, anyone got the same results?

Try download the complete binary instead of the web installer and see if that works.

thank you very much, i'm downloading it right now Smiley

i think the error of the winfx websetup is that it tries to get the german language pack, as i have a german localized windows, but the url where it is looking for seems to be non existent.

well, hopefully the downloadable runtime components will work!

and do you have a link to an iso image of the plattform sdk for winfx beta 2 since i can't find it anywhere? i only find the websetup.

I tried downloading the complete setup (~47mb) and tried installing that. It still fails and crashes. I have uninstalled all previous releases and even used the uninstall utility. Has anyone got this installed successfully?

Yes it installed fine for me on x86 and x64.

this sdk image wasn't up when i looked at the "get the beta" page, now all is linked correctly and i'm downloading it from there [which of course is the same link that you provide in your link, so thanks Smiley], so you don't have to install it Wink

I got the same error too. The problems was that I had installed the framework 1.1 after the setup of VS2005 (don't ask me why!). Then, I had repaired the installation of VS2005: so I had fixed the problem!
