Now that the real XAML is coming to pre-Longhorn platforms and now that I have seen the forms designer for the Xamlon beta, I have uninstalled Xamlon.

Unfortunately, the Xamlon icon shows up among the products of the Visual Studio "family" on the VS.Net splash screen. Any ideas about removing Xamlon from the splash?

Try running "devenv.exe /setup".
You may also want to report this to the Xamalon team as well.

rasx:  Thanks for pointing this out, we've logged it as a bug.  Feel free to contact me with any other bugs or feedback on the Forms Designer.

As far as competing with Microsoft, our engine is just a subset of Avalon.  We aren't aiming to recreate Avalon completely.  Our main goal is compatiblity so that way any applications written with our engine today run on Avalon in the future.  The more XAML the better.
