I believe I read somewhere it was safe to install Visual Studio .NET 2005 on the same machine as VS 2002.

Is this correct?  Has anyone had any issues?

I want to continue doing old projects in 2002 but new projects in 2005.

My name has 9 letters. Coincidence? I think not...
I've not tried this particular combination (I have had VS2003 and 2005 on the same machine though), but it should be fine. Make sure you install VS2005 last.

what!ever...
I have Visual Studio 2002, 2003 and 2005 all on my system. I've even installed 2002 after 2005 on another system and things continue to work. The file extensions for .sln, .proj etc are owned by an Application Picker which loads the correct version of Visual Studio for you.
