Well unless you want us to decipher it for ya (which I am sure you've managed already) Tongue Out I'll guess you meant to put this in the coffeehouse?

I have to say, I always wonder what to do with bug reports and Microsoft. It seems to me that there should be a simple email address to post stuff like this to, where they look through and put such errors on their big "TODO" list (albeit with "aesthetic, low-priority" in this case) for some guy in maintenance to fix and roll out in the next Windows Update.

As it is, Microsoft doesn't seem to have a coherent way of sending in bug-fixes, which means more often than not, I just get bored searching and say "fine, they shall have buggy software then, see if I care", which isn't in Microsoft's interests (and yes, the bugs I tend to find arn't just typos, some of them are important but would go straight over the head of any guy on the end of the helpdesk who would ask "have you treid rebooting, sir?")

Pour me a cab, 'cause I can't drink no more.
The problem with that, I suppose, is that it would be a full-time job for more than one person to do the triage and filtering of all those bugs. Windows is a huge product and a huge codebase, and any such email address will by necessity be inundated with emails, many of which are frivolous and/or malicious, and even the ones that aren't will often be unclear or unhelpful, and take many man-hours to track down and understand.

What I really would like is a decent bug-tracking system - like, you know, Connect - where people need to go through a minimal sign-up process to keep the participants at a certain minimal level of interest/capability, and then a big feature-tree that allows the bug sender to narrow the complaint down to the relevant group, in effect putting most of the triaging responsibility on the reporter's shoulders. It might still be a huge effort to filter the noise from such a system, but I suspect it's more doable.
