Hi,

I am having Share Point Portal 2003 with share point portal service 2.0 build 11.0.8173.0 and SQL 2000. I have migrated server from one Windows 2003 Server primary domain  to secondary domain. I have taken backup from share point backup utility and restore it on another server. I am facing problem while adding user into portal. Whenever I add user and provide permission e.g. content manager/web designer or contributor, it gives me error An unexpected error has occurred. I am not able to add the user. Any thoughts? what could be the problem?

While specifying user name give Domain\ (for eg. MSN\userid). Hope this may help you. If you still face issue then check in Central Site Administration and Shared Services Site. There a setting is for Downloading all LDAP/AD Dump to local Server.
There must be some problem in that service/process.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried with above options but not succeded. Also please let me know from where I should download LDAP/AD dump to local server. In my case share point portal is installed on same ADS.
