Does anyone know how to change the setting in IE so that when you download something to the desktop and then hit the *Show Folder* button, it asctually opens a explorer window showing the desktop?

One easy way to keep Windows looking clean (and speed it up) is to hide your desktop items. Having done this, it is a realy pain in the butt to download something and then not be able to get IE to show it to you.

When a button says *Show Folder* and usually opens a new explorer window, that is what it should continue to do for the Desktop. If I wanted to access it by moving all the open windows out of the way (and in my case turning the icons back on) I would not have hit the dang button!

Click the Desktop icon (in my case I have to scroll up first)

EDIT: seems you're not alone
