Yah, as a consumer I much prefer IE. My comments are my perspective of IE from a developer standpoint. IE 8 could change my mind. We'll see. :)

EVERYTHING is great in IE! ;)

my much maligned and still unchanged site www.lionshare.ca ONLY works in IE

it is a floating background image - with a floating layer on it - holding a table with thumbnails, that have a script reflection on them - all set to transparent.

the only browser to render it correctly is IE

others like to laugh and say its my fault - haha - NO - it works in IE!!! ;)

ps! get back to me when your scroll bars dont pop on and off depending on content height.. lol.. ie rules :p

*up to ie7 anway - does not include ie8 ..yet

FYI, when David and I were working on the design/implementation of the current site, he originally wanted everything to be semi-transparent like that. We decided not to do that since it slowed down IE so much. ;) There are ways to get around it like making the image you're repeating bigger so it has to do less drawing, but it's still not that great in IE.

hosting the files isnt an issue - organizing the files is

first off - here is your background - within the normal c9 BG (with the c9 borders)

apart from that - www.channel9.ca/9themes/koogle
is where all your files are

..but i cant break apart every theme and change the urls etc...
we will have to wait for REAL THEMES ;) to do that

well i'm finished with this for now.. it still needs more tweaking both css & images, was going to add some snow effects to the frontlayout but it will have to wait. I should mention this amount of layered png transparency can result in a less than snappy browsing experience... especially with ie engine :P
