Business apps live on data. In this demo-focused talk, we'll show how we've made building data-centric business applications in WPF easier with the new DataGrid, Ribbon, and Calendar/DatePicker controls. As we build the application, we'll also give you a sneak peek at how building data-bound apps will be significantly easier in Visual Studio 2010.

Any chance the demo app used in this talk will be available?
Yes, it will be available as a Hands-on-Lab in a few weeks.  I'll post a link once it's ready.

In the meantime, you can find a similar app using DataGrid, Ribbon, DatePicker, and VSM in a Hands-on-Lab which is available here.

Thanks!
The demo from this presentation is now available as the six-part Southridge Hands-on-Lab.  You can find a link to the lab here: http://www.codeplex.com/wpf/Wiki/View.aspx?title=Southridge%20Lab.  Thanks!

I would like MS to include DataSet in the next version of SilverLight. We need DataSet to integrate our existing .NET application with the SilverLight.  For example, in our development we use DataSet to work with Data such as returning DataSet to the caller and use DataSet to save data.

We cannot change and add all these methods simply because we need to use the SilverLight since this will create our jobs harder and double the works!

There are now updated videos about the WPF and Silverlight designer features available at http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/Continuum/WPF4Beta1DesignerForms/  and http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/Continuum/WPF4Beta1DesignerStyling/ - check them out and let us know what you think!
