Here is the sample code from my Home Server SDK video.  There are two pieces - a C# sample that uses our "Notification" infrastructure to send an error message to the Home Server console and the Home Server client side task tray. 

The second sample is a VB.NET sample that demonstrates adding a tab to the Home Server admin console.
