CES starts today and while we ramp up for the commotion, enjoy this video of Young Kim, Senior User Experience Designer from Microsoft Hardware, talking about what went in to creating the Arc Touch. "What's the big deal, it's just another mouse" you might say. No, not really. Arc Touch was a huge challenge for Microsoft Hardware; there is just nowhere to put the electronics once you remove the space that the batteries and Blue Track hardware require. And then you have the the challenge of the Arc's backbone that both holds it all together and allows the mouse to curve and flatten, thousands and thousands of times, without becoming so worn that it won't hold up the arch when you put your hand on it. It really was a huge challenge, both mechanically and design-wise, and MS Hardware knocked it out of the park. This is why many people are very proud of this mouse, and it leaves me excited for our future.

Not trying to discourage or anything, but, I liked this better.

Sure the arc is elegant and slim, but, that mouse is much more comfortable. For me, that one is the most comfortable model. A little bulk feeling, but, not too much. It is just feel right. And the soft grip and everything feels great. And it is small enough for travel.

Fantastic! Congratulations
@magicalclick: That's the mouse I use on my living room HTPC. I like that we have lots of options. I use Arc mice like crazy (carry them everywhere), I suspect I'll keep an Arc Touch in my bag soon. The new Touch Mouse is going to be my main desktop mouse.
@magicalclick: I like small mice so that little mobile 4000 felt really nice when I tried it out at Staples. The ArtTouch is kind of big and since it doesn't look like there's anywhere for your thumb to hold it I can't see that it would be the rigth mouse for me.
I actually use 2 mice, one for when I'm facing my main monitor and a little wireless Logitech one for when I'm facing the other monitor and using my MIDI keyboard to my right.
I'm typing this on a wireless Arc keyoard though
fantastic! thanks!
