Who are the people behind the C9 handles and avatars? Why did they join Channel 9? What do they do on Channel 9? What do they like and dislike about C9?

These are some of the questions that I got a chance ask at TechED 2007 Developer where I ran into a few Niners attending the event in Barcelona. We talked a bit about V4 and their favorite features in V3 (that will also be in V4). The dev team is working really, really hard to build a high quality next version of C9 that does not reuse any of the current code base, yet maintains the current featureset. It's a very hard problem, but our great dev team (Duncan Mackenzie, Erik Porter, Mike Sampson, David Shadle and Grace Francisco) are making great progress!

Tune in. Meet Littleguru, Zeus and JasonOlson.

Whoa ... TechEd was awesome ...
Agreed. Having been to both Tech Ed US and Tech Ed Europe now, I must say that Tech Ed Europe was WAY better, no comparison.

Yeah. I am absolutely 100% with Jason on the Going Deep videos. They should make one a day, and make them even more technical.

Well, you're so small. A hug from a squirrel would practically kill you Tongue Out.

What can I say, I'm a total whacko! That will really show on the video interview that LittleGuru did with me for Channel 8. I just know it was nice to finally "be myself" around another Niner. Because I am _completely_ different in person Smiley.

LittleGuru, if you're a student how are you able to attend this function?

The Microsoft Student Partner (ignore the flash when the website opens - it is going away) program is the key. The best one in there (75 in total in Europe) got a ticket to TechEd. We got the entry for free - I did also like 25 interviews for Channel 8 there. So I actually worked also there. I had to pay my hotel and the flight, but they are cheap these days.

 Sweet.

That site is a bit deceiving though. It says US peeps can be a student partner yet the US isn't on the list of countries to apply.

Weird.

This website is going to be better in the future... the student partner program is very new. It's only available since a few years... Send an e-mail to msp-help@microsoft.com to get more information about the program in your country. They will forward you to the people that you need to contact!
