I agree, it did sound a little silly. What I meant to emphasize is that the tools really do make it easier for everyone to access the capabilities. "Democratization" is an easy shorthand for me and I know we tend to overuse it. We are shooting for all the tools to be that much more accessible to everyone. Hopefully next time I will not pontificate quite so much.

I get pissed off when marketing people say things like "architects pontificating design..." for the sake of marketing the "democratization" idiom in the VS 2010. It sounded like a silly thing to say...

Nice, Visual Studio "10" will be released as "Visual Studio 2010". You could just call it VS'10

Yeah, I'm expecting there to be much more info released at PDC.

RoryBecker2 asked a good question: "Is .Net Framework going to include a New CLR or are we going to continue with v2.0?"
I am very interested in learning what new features will be in the CLR, and if it will warrant a new CLR version or if it'll just be built on top of 2.0.

Feedback to the VS / TS folks: I could really use a lot ofthe tools that right now are only in the TS sku's
for example: Code Profiling , Web Service Unit Test

PLEASE think of moving them to VS Pro ! we spend the money on the MSDN SUB to have tools but we are too small a shop to buy TS when there are only 1 developer and one owner who are doing software in our small company.
