Introduction: In a previous <a href="http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=385722>video (part 1), you learnt how to get started with the Managed AddIn Framework (MAF). This video is part 2 and relies on knowledge gained in part 1. In this video you will learn how to enable a v1 AddIn to work with a v2 Host and hence you will see the true value of the MAF pipeline. The code is available from my blog.
Introduction: When you install Visual Studio 2008 you also get the additional assemblies that make up version 1.0 of ADO.NET Sync Services. More importantly, there is a nice wizard in VS2008 that does the hard work for you. In this 18' video we create from scratch a project that uses Sync Services to synchronize data between a local cache and the server.
Introduction: With VSTO v3.0 the attraction to write managed code in order to customise Office applications is huge. If you are a managed developer (e.g. Windows Forms) then you'll find that you already have the skills for extending Microsoft Office applications with your code. Visual Studio 2008 makes it really easy and that is what I demonstrate in this 12' video. Introduction: Javascript is a language that is gaining momentum every day on the web. However, it is still hard to work with especially if you are used to managed languages like C#. Now, with Visual Studio 2008, some enhancements such as intellisense and debugging will make all of our lives much easier and bring the experience much closer to what it should be. See how, in this 14' video and remember that the enhancements apply to ASP.NET v2.0 projects too.

Introduction: User Account Control is the top compatibility hurdle for some applications moving to Windows Vista. It is relatively easy to comply with some elements of UAC (e.g. embedding a manifest in your app) and with Visual Studio 2008 it is even easier as I show in this video. Author: Hi, I am Daniel Moth :)

Introduction: While we all love focusing on language and framework features, sometimes it is nice to get small aesthetic and usability enhancements. The Visual Studio 2008 IDE has plenty of those as you can see in this video. Related to that, VS2005 does the job on Windows Vista, but it is quite obvious (to me at least!) that it is a "ported" application and not one designed to fully take advantage of the platform; in contrast, VS2008 leverages Vista-only features as I demonstrate in this video. The relevant posts on my blog are here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here.
Author: Hi, I am Daniel Moth :)

Introduction: There is much confusion about what .NET Framework 3.5 is and how it relates to v3.0 and v2.0. In this video I try to explain that and also show you the entire list of the new assemblies with a sentence or two on what each one contains and where they reside. On the way, I share how I personally explore new assemblies in case it is useful to anyone.
