The site is targeted toward independent developers who need all the help they can get, both technical and non-technical, to take advantage of all the opportunity that a major operating system release like Windows Vista and (formerly WinFX now .Net 3.0) presents.

Workflow-based guidance is step-by-step instructions on how to do everything from get started with WPF to write and publish a press release.

The content is delivered in "packages" that are downloaded via RSS using the enclosure technology that has enabled podcasting. So you might think of this as podcasting software.

The "factory" is the infrastructure that enables both the downloading of the packages, injection of the workflow and content into your solution and the dynamic extension of Visual Studio.

Please say more about why you think the bold bits are bull.

Of course it *looks* like my nick is just my name, but actually, well, it's just my name.

Manip, I'm not certain how the bits you highlighted are "bull": given that that's the terminology they've chosen, the things being referred to are real. ".NET 3.0" as a term may be (IMO) another unfortunate marketing contrivance, but the technology it describes is very real. RSS is real and syndication is useful. And so on and so forth.

So let's not be gratuitously grumpy.

Hi there Stranger...

The new project sounds interesting. New title sounds even more fun. I'll go read the website and see what my impression is, especially since I've worked with a few good developers in my time. Wink IMHO the biggest problem most developers have is knowing how to deal with the business side, or how to talk to the "public" and not see them break out into a rash. AKA COMDEX Syndrome.

As you know I'd love to see the community/collaboration side of this works, especially since I know the beast so well.

BTW love the Green Machine. My new one runs is like yours and runs only 90 mins if I'm lucky.

Somebody should tell the people behind http://www.projectglidepath.net to check it out in IE 7 on vista. It's.. hmmm... "funky".. constantly flashing and impossible to read - Although it could be my vista beta 2 install and not the website but they shoudl check it out anyway.

bdelahunty is right. There's a major problem with the web page. It seems like all the elements, slices etc are constantly refreshing... then again so is this page as I type this reply. In fact it flashes every time I type a letter. Vista Beta 2 and IE7. Seems to have started since Automatic Updates downloaded and installed the fix for Nortons yesterday.
