Nic Fillingham is moving on from Channel 9. It's been a fun four years or so and he's done some great stuff as a member of our small team. Nic's the guy behind Channel 9 Live and he's helped to improve the physical quality of Channel 9 media (16x9, 720p HD, etc). He's also been the champion of live streaming for our key events.
Nic will be heading to the Windows Live team where he'll be working on the Hotmail product as a program manager repsonsible for...something. This is Nic's lifelong dream and we're happy to see it finally realized
Best of luck, mate. We'll miss you!

Channel 9 Live ROCKS
Goodbye.
Good luck
Nic should be on TWOC from time to time as a special guest.
You'll be missed, Nic.
Also, a great exit interview, thank you!
Good luck Nic at Hotmail! Thank you for everything including channel 9 live, HD content, the campus tours and the fresh spirit on TWOC9 show!
Cheers Nic, well done and good luck!
It was great to meet you at Mix'11 and to see your session there - it was very interesting to see how much goes into Channel9 productions. Thanks for everything and best of luck.
I'm just watching this now... and I'm just loving the fact that we have a whole segment on salt... at [20:14]
oh... and I was hired to work on on10.net as well, as a dev... but still there are three of us on10.net flag wavers still here
Wow!!! Thanks everyone for your kind words and for supporting the projects I've worked on over the last 3-ish years.
It's definitely sad to be leaving the Channel 9 family but I'm very excited to be heading over to Hotmail and taking on a new challenge.
I'll do my best to keep pestering Charles and Dan and Larry to guest host the odd video here and there; they can't get rid of me this easily
Cheers
I got to work with Nic for the Surface Patty video, and he was just amazing, he helped me feel at ease and the entire shoot was entertaining. Nic, I wish you well over at Hotmail, and thankyou for your contributions to Channel 9!
@longzheng: yeah... There was some swearing we had to cut out
Had a chance to meet Nic at BUILD and MIX. Super nice guy. Best of luck Nic!
@Joe Farro: @milkplanet: Thanks guys. It's been great meeting so many awesome folks both in front of and behind the camera. Cheers
Aw schucks :/ Gonna miss you man, really hope you're not gone forever! i'd like to sincerely thank you for all the things you've given us on c9. Great stuff!
Hell yeah i'll come to the campus, just need to trick my employer to send me to seattle
The salt thing was interesting, did you know that the components of salt, sodium and chloride, are extremely toxic by them selves but when you put them together, you get something humans need to live.. boggles the mind
The reason you put salt in the water is so that it can retain a higher amount of heat without boiling. In fact most solid substances you add to water are going to raise the boiling point. It's the same reason you put salt in the water when you cook pasta.
Fun interview, guys - Nic, you will be missed for sure. We'll definitely need to have you back on TWC9!!!
Good luck Nic and don't forget to come back and visit some time. Sounds like you've been on a walk-about for some time indeed.
