Leveraging oData using the built-in SharePoint 2010 data factory

Stephane Eyskens, SharePoint MVP demonstrates how you can leverage the oData protocol easily in SharePoint 2010 by making use of the built-in data factory. He demonstrates that via two examples:
- A social webpart that increases networking within an enterprise
- An advanced search page on the user profiles leveraging the oData operators/filtering capabilities and with autocomplete support on some User Profile properties (Department, Jobtitle).
