Microsoft announced this morning that the next release of Microsoft Office will include “lightweight”, browser-based versions of some of its main office software products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote (read the full story). Here is what people are saying: Joel Oleson thinks this is a pretty exciting stuff! Joe Wilcox wants to know “how will Google competitively respond, particularly since Microsoft has disclosed its plans?” Mark Hachman thinks that “Office Live compatibility with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari is a nice touch.” Henry Blodget notes that “Microsoft finally appears to have launched its own Google Apps killer.” And you?
