Things have changed a lot around Channel 9. As you may have noticed, some people have come and gone over the past year, and the team is very different from what it used to be.

Some would say it's much better. Others would say it's gone downhill, but those people are stupid, and they'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.

Along with changes to 9, we've also seen the rise of 10. We still aren't entirely sure what it is, but we've got some seriously talented people working over there.

One of those people is Jesse Lewin.

I've had many hallway conversations with the guy since starting here. We've talked shop, clothing, music - the normal stuff.

After several months, he started to tell me more and more about his life pre-Microsoft. I was surprised to learn that:

1. His father worked on the Mac "back in the day"

2. When he was a kid, he got to hang out with Steve Jobs with some regularity

3. He worked for Apple (always interesting to talk to people who've worked for Apple in some way)

4. He's met a bunch of uber famous people

5. He likes my shoes

He also worked for Engadget. The guy has quite the history, which is all the more surprising given how young he is.

Anyway, I love the man, and wanted to get him up on 9. While he isn't a dev, he is a geek, and he's my kind of geek. When you can go from chatting about Prada to Powerbooks, you're probably going to get along with me.

Hope you like the interview. It was certainly fun for me, and I plan on doing more interviews with the rest of the team. It's time all you people met the current generation of JeffSand evangelists...

This is going to be kind of an unusual Channel 9 interview...

But all interviews with Rory in them are unusual. However, since Rory is in many Channel 9 videos, unusual interviews have become the norm. That makes unusual Channel 9 interviews not unusual at all.

No, no, no! nvidia's "quality assurance" team will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. (Or at least, they'll be the first lot I put up against the wall when the revolution comes.)

Or maybe I'll execute unethical scientists first... Nah, the nvidia lot will be easier to find.
Well... The interview guy basically sounds to me similar to this:

"So I'm like you know, shucks, whatever, like, you know? Like, yea, and he's like wow, and you know?"

It's quite annoying, as if listening to a 13 year old girl on a caffeine overdose.
I think you lost the adult audience with this interviewing guy, but I'm sure kids 2-6 will enjoy his antics. It's great you're thinking about the children as well.

OMG he met Steve Jobs! He met Steve Jobs! He was his best buddy, OMG OMG!!!

Right...
I had to quit watching after a couple of minutes - just couldn't deal with the kid messing up a good interviview. This actually reminds me of the "wow! a blue car!" quote from the Simpsons. The constant amazement about every little thing didn't seem genuine at all.

Well, you can't please everyone. I found it interesting, although (obviously) not related in any way to programming.

I didn't check what the tags were; is there a tag for "not technical" I suppose you could have used the old "characters" tag.

hahaha all the grumpy old men have come out of hiding.

Give the guy a break; he was trying to be modest while telling us something amazing about his childhood.
