Scott Isaacs is one of the inventors of DHTML. He is one of Microsoft's smartest Web developers and built a framework that's being used on Start.com, the future Hotmail, and other places like the new gadgets in Windows Vista. Hope you enjoy meeting Scott, sorry for the bad lighting at the beginning. If you've done any AJAX development, you'll find this one interesting and you'll get a look at some bleeding-edge Web development that MSN is doing.

Scott's book is one of the things that got me excited about the potential of what could be done with Web development.  Thanks so much for doing this interview!
Scott is a machine.  His blog is really good.  I love his work.

The Proxy Javscript calls to the server idea you can see in Ajex.Net, you define some server side calls and add an attribute, and it will automatically allow the javascript to call function with the same signature in the browser.

Here is a link to it: http://ajax.schwarz-interactive.de/csharpsample/default.aspx

With me it's a full-time job.
Cool. I read this book in a weekend. (Not entirely all my choice)

That's great, Scott.  I too have written and finished an entire DHTML application platform with all of the resuable components you mention plus a whole host of applications.

Check it out:  http://www.convea.com

The platform is called oneVision, my application built on the platform is called Intranet Suite.

I plan on launching the open platform as a kind of virtual webOS in the coming months, so anyone can signup and basically tick off the apps they want and they will appear inside of desktop environment, integrated with each other, running multiple web-apps at once.

It's pretty exciting, sadly nobody knows I exist!  Maybe when I launch the Virtual Office System somebody will notice what I've been working on for so long!

Let me know what you think if you get time to take a look.  I find your work inspirational :o)

Seems like Scott is doing good work Wink

I'd love to have a glimpse from the inside of the DHTML Foundation. Let Scott explain some more technical stuff about the inner working of that so called Foundation.

Well... keep up the good work buddy !

For more of the inner workings, I suggest checking out my blog:

Also, check out the Start.com developer center:
