Microsoft, today, released a new version of Photo Story. It's a really great new way to share your digital photos with other people. Try it out, it's free (for people who own Windows XP).

In this video Vladimir Rovinsky, lead program manager on the Photo Story team, demonstrates Photo Story for us.

In another early look at Photo Story 3, Sean Alexander blogged about it and Paul Thurrott has a review about it.

Why don't you try it and let us know your experiences here?

In another video we posted today you can hear more from the team that built Photostory.

Waah, I can't download it in Firefox because it's an installation via ActiveX... :'-(

The ActiveX is just for the antipiracy thing. Install it once via IE and then you can download the software using whatever you want. And you shouldn't need to install the ActiveX after you've installed it once, as I understand it.

I thought Picasa was a photo organizer, not aimed at telling stories. Am I wrong? Gotta check into that again.

Downloaded the program yesterday, and it really is cool; easy and straightforward.

One thing you guys should consider putting into the program is a mood/season/background feature; xmas is coming and it would be nice to select a background on which the clip is overlayed.

.. also when selecting music one should be allowed to browse by play list or genre.

soe

Now I have had a chance to "play" with PS3 I am really impressed!!!

I have written an article and posted to my site:

I am also thinking of doing more software "demo" style videos like the one at the end
of this article:

I've never used the earlier versions of Photo Story, but I was very impressed with this release. It looks nice, it's very easy to use, and the finished videos look really cool with the Ken Burns effect.

Props to the Photo Story team for creating a great little product. Smiley
