Team Foundation Server 2010 will be getting some major overhauls to the setup and administration experience. In this interview, Ed Holloway, senior program manager for Team Foundation Server, talks about the changes his team is making. By the end of this interview, Ed will have completely deployed a 1-server Team Foundation Server 2010 instance.

Very glad we're getting improvements to the setup/configuration experience!

There's something wrong with the video after 17:30.  The video doesn't continue but the audio does continue.  Love to see the stuff at the end.

Sorry Ed, looks like you're right - I'm trying to track this one down and will post a new version once I can. Weird thing is it worked at first so I'm not sure what's happening just yet.

Ok, we should be good to go again. Sorry for the original problem - I re-encoded the video and tested it to make sure it's all in tact. Gremlins, I tell ya... Smiley

We are skipping TFS 2008.  Is there a direct upgrade path planed from TFS 2005 to TFS 2010?

Are there specific privileges that the Service account that is required to configure in TFS 2010?

Yes, we are planning to have an upgrade path from both 2005 and 2008 to 2010.

The Service accounts will be very similar to those required for TFS2008.

For less complex installs (single server, no SharePoint or Reporting), Network Service may be used.

I get this error in windows media player after clicking on the video above:

 

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there are no streaming protocols selected. Select one or more protocols, and then try again.
