The presentation describes details related to the MS-XCEP, WS-Trust, and MS-WSTEP protocols and their usage.

Certification Authority System Overview
Larry Talbot, Program Manager,  presented a discussion of MS-CASO, a system overview document at the at the 2009 Certificate Windows Protocols Plugfest. MS-CASO, to be delivered in an upcoming Windows Protocol Document release, describes the functional architecture of a Certificate Authority system and how the protocols in this system interact.

Windows Certificate Protocols Overview

Oded Shekel, Program Manager, presented an overview of the Certificate protocols and structures, including a question and answer session at the at the 2009 Certificate Windows Protocols Plugfest. Architecture of the protocols and structures were described, as well as an overview of the changes being introduced in Windows 7.

Certificate Plugfest Troubleshooting Issues with Windows
Richard Guthrie, Escalation Engineer, presented a session covering debugging tools that can be used for troubleshooting Windows at the 2009 Certificate Windows Protocols Plugfest.   Richard answered windows debugging questions as well.   Debugging with Windbg including assembly call stack analysis examples were provided.   Tracing calls with Windows ETW and IDNA tracing were demonstrated.  Provided a demonstration of a few resource kit tools commonly used for Windows debugging as well as some sysinternals tools (process monitor & filemon).

Network Monitor (Netmon) 3.3 Overview
Paul Long, Technical Evangelist, presented an overview of Netmon 3.3 protocol analyzer (a Windows-based utility) including a tour of the tool as well as a question and answer session at the 2009 Certificate Windows Protocols Plugfest. Capabilities, functionality and design goals are described. Paul also provided demonstrations of protocol analysis scenarios including parser usage, filtering and using netmon for troubleshooting.   Download Netmon 3.3.
