At Mix 11 Johnathan Fay from Microsoft Research showed a demo of Worldwide Telescope using Kinect as a controller. I stopped by during Mix 11 to get more details about what it does, how it works, and when we'll be able to play with this ourselves.

That earthquake data demo was incredible. A great way to visualise that data. I can't wait to play with this.

Also interesting to hear that "the kinect will also be available some time after the sdk ships"
is he talking about the kinect enabled software or some sort of PC bundle for kinect? only time will tell.. (probably the software though)
