The bitmap effects from WPF 3.0 and 3.5 have changed in 3.5 Service Pack 1 in that we now get hardware acceleration and also the ability to plug in 3rd-party or custom effects by writing pixel shaders. Here, we take a quick look at using effects and building our own simple shader.
