Microsoft recently released the Microsoft Education Pack for Tablet PC. What is it? It's a free group of applications for students. Just in time for school to start.

Cool video to watch just to see some other things the Tablet PC is good for.

Is there any way to export to Math XML from equation editor? I like the feature, but it would be nice to be put into another format. Like Microsoft launched Student 2006 this year that as a graphing calculator program with it, it would be really nice to be able to use ink to enter equations.

Now the obligatory instructions for running it on XP Pro and Home.

1. Download File
2. Move to root of C:
3. Start Menu -> Run -> CMD
4. Type: C:
5. Type: CD \
6. Type: msiexec /a EducationPack.msi

I wish this exported to the Mathtype format as well.

Mathtype rocks, (http://wwww.mathtype.com)

Definetly have to check out this education pack.

Gnarly dude. I can see some happy accidents with mathematical recognition, some lucky scientist scrawling something incorrectly and the computer misinterpreting it and giving them a place in history.

Shame equations are saved online as a bitmap, would have liked a jpeg so that the equation could be imbedded in the meta-data, maybe fonts as Robert suggested or have the tablet recognise the characters form the image so it can be edited, remember this is not a style of writing where spell check can insert or take a duplicate letter, whole formulas depend on their accuracy

See for a similar technology:

Unfortunately we don’t export as Math XML; it was something we really wanted to get into this version but we were not able to.  We have gotten a lot of feedback on this and it is a feature we want to include in future versions.  Thanks for your feedback.

Cool.
You need any beta testers?

The Pack is cool, but hasn't anyone else noticed that Emily is really hot?
