Meet a large portion of the teams that make the Tablet PC and laptop/notebook features. We have a wide-ranging discussion from how to make battery life better (developers take note!) to new handwriting recognition features coming in Windows Vista.

We start out the meeting "is this the team that's about to get fired?" Hey, the Tablet PC team has its naysayers. Smiley

We're not one of them.

And be sure to subscribe the MobilePC team's blog. Full of goodness.

my m200 is long in the tooth now. toshiba seems to develop for larger screens now!

i'd love to get a speedy tablet pc with nice gfx Smiley

Robert,

Please have your mgmt purchase a quality shotgun mic and attach it to your camera for sessions when you have large groups sitting across the room. I stopped watching this video because of the poor audio quality.

Thanks,

Great stuff, all the new writing training is ace.  And the fact I should be able to upgrade my M200 to Windows Vista thanks to Tablet being included in Windows Vista itself.

Of course it probably won't stop me from buying a Vista-generation Tablet as things are looking really good.

Little concerened about how the Tablets with touch and digitisers will work, will you turn off the touch screen?  The coolest thing people mention when they see mine is you can actually write on the Tablet and rest your hand on the screen to do it so it's very natural.

Keep up the great work guys!

Tablet PC guy at the PDC said the M200 will probably not be able to run Vista, but the M400 will. It should be out by November or later I think.
m400? out by this or next november?

Curiously, when the audio level is high - particularly at the beginning of the video - the sound is pretty distorted. Not sure if it's just the accoustics of the room or an encoding issue. When the level is quiet it sounds good, but quiet. The audio levels on all the channel9 videos are pretty low (try playing Spider Sol while you play the video to see what I mean).

I don't know what software you use to produce the videos but if it supports DX audio plugins you can get a compressor/limiter plugin that would equalise the levels a bit. A dynamic range compression of 5:1 ought to do it.
