How do I download the videos?
- To download, right click the file type you would like and pick “Save target as…” or “Save link as…”
Why should I download videos from Channel9?
- It's an easy way to save the videos you like locally.
- You can save the videos in order to watch them offline.
- If all you want is to hear the audio, you can download the MP3!
Which version should I choose?
- If you want to view the video on your PC, Xbox or Media Center, download the High Quality WMV file (this is the highest quality version we have available).
- If you'd like a lower bitrate version, to reduce the download time or cost, then choose the Medium Quality WMV file.
- If you have a Zune, WP7, iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, choose the low or medium MP4 file.
- If you just want to hear the audio of the video, choose the MP3 file.
Right click “Save as…”

Can I simply uninstall Beta 1 (TFS, .net4 framework, and VS2010) and continue on with the VM I'm currently running?

Great question. Yes you should be able to do that. But just be advised that upgrading from beta 1 of TFS 2010 to beta 2 of TFS 2010 is not an officially supported scenario. So if you intend to take advantage of the "go live" license to run this in a production capacity then you should really be installing on a clean box.

On clean W2K8 R2 Install, clean SQL Standard SP1, I get the following error on the TFS readiness validation:
[ Reporting ] TFxxxxxx: SQL Server Reporting Services is configured to require a secure connection, however no HTTPS URL is configured with a valid certificate. Use the Reporting Services Configuration Manager to configure or remove HTTPS support.
However, I don't see any checkbox in "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" to turn off HTTPS. Any way to supress this? Configuration wizard won't let me continue without fixing this issue.

Yep - in my experience it's much, much better!
Performance was a huge push for the team between beta 1 and beta 2.

I have more details about upgrading Visual Studio Betas. This doesn't apply to TFS Server, just to Professional, Ultimate (formerly VSTS or TeamSuite), and Premium products.
If you evaluated Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1, you will be happy to hear that no reformatting is required. Additionally, a simple path exists to upgrade Beta2 on the same machine. It involves uninstalling your Visual Studio 2010 Beta1 product and then installing one of the Visual Studio 2010 Beta2 offerings.
Given the nature of pre-release software, there may be a few pre-steps needed to ensure success, depending on what operating system you are using or what you have installed on your machine.
Here is a quick guide to upgrading to Beta 2. (These steps need to be performed in this order).

Installing from scratch is a fine thing. But more important I guess is how to upgrade an existing TFS 2008 installation.

The VM that is referenced in here (from the "Download all files..." link) has a disfunctional VMBus driver when I boot it (looking at device mgr, system devices) , and therefore, the Microsoft Virtual Machine Bus Network Adapter cannot be brought online. Any ideas for a fix for this?
device mgr reports that the device cannot find enough free resources to start (Code 12), and suggests disabling some other resources to try to make room for the VMBus device...
???
Update: ran msconfig, boot tab, advanced options, checked "Detect HAL", all good.
We upgraded TFS from TFS 2008 (with SP1) to TFS 2010 Beta 2. This is a single server deployment for a small team, with TFS, WSS and SQL all on the same Windows 2003 (with SP2) server. As part of the process, we upgraded WSS 3.0 to 3.0 SP1, and SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 with SP1.
The TFS 2010 Beta 2 install ran normally. The Upgrade Configuration tool ran normally as well, however it ended with a few warnings:

All our old TFS 2008 projects show up after the upgrade to TFS 2010 Beta 2 within Team Explorer. The Work Items, Source Control Tree, and the shared documents all seem okay. (Sweet relief).
Note that:
* WSS Central Administration site comes up fine
* the new TFS Web Access site comes up fine
* the default WSS site comes up fine
The missing part however is that none of the old project portals can be found. The old sites are completely gone from SharePoint.
Do you have any advice on how to recreate the Team Project Portals for the existing TFS projects that were migrated from TFS 2008 to TFS 2010 Beta 2?

The WS08 VPC is only at SP1 and TFS2010B2 requires the O/S to be at SP2, meaning that everybody who attempts the B2 installs will have to u/g the VPC image. Unimpressed!

Sorry for the extra step, but that's the only WS08 VM I could find for free, public download. I call out in the video that you should install all updates including SP2. If the Windows Server team publishes a newer VM I will link to it.

I don't know the answer to your question but I have two suggestions.
1) Post your question in the MSDN Forum for Team Foundation Server. Please include all of the same details as above, that's great information to have. The Forums are being monitored by product team experts, MVP's, and support professionals.
2) You can also try contacting Support. See the Go Live post which explains how to get an Access ID for no-charge assistance with beta 2.
Anyone experiencing No sound, I tried episode: 10-4 Episode 32: MEF Preview 7 both using Silverlight and downloading WMV all works, ie with sound however this episode, sound is not working, Anyone got any ideas?

I am really struggling on setting up Windows 2008 Server VHD.
the steps I followed
1. Downloaded - Windows Server 2008 R2 RC Enterprise Evaluation (Full Edition)
2. Exctracted VHD file.
3. Configured VHD with Microsoft Virual PC 2007
4. Started Win 2008
Issue: whist starting win 2008 server, it is showing "Windows is loading files..." with progress bar. Progress bar runs two times and vpc gets restarted. again

I beta 2 fully uninstallable?
Meaning: can I install it on my dev machine now and fully uninstall it later on when the RTM gets released without having to reinstall the OS to clean up any Beta 2 "garbage", e.g. registry keys, files, etc.?

The first one you were trying to download is Windows Server 2008 R2. R2 is 64-bit only, and Virtual PC can't run 64-bit operating systems. Only Hyper-V can.

Now that I have TFS 2010 Beta2 and VS2010 Beta2, I would like to import all TFS content from our production environment (TFS 2005) to start exploring the new features of TFS. Yes. What I showed in the video is just one of many possible configurations. You can install TFS on Windows Server 2003, and even Windows 7 / Vista now using the "Basic" configuration.

The installer has lots's and lot's of bugs telling me "Microsoft Common Language Runtime native compiler stopped working" on windows Vista, sorry but this sucks MS !!!!

I dowloaded everything as mentioned in the link.
However, I get an activation error 0x8007232B when I try to use the VM.
When following the link, it tells me I haven't a genuine Windows Vista blah blah.
But this is a Windows Server VM on a genuine Windows 7 64 (not Vista).
What can I do?

No, I don't believe that Windows Web Server is a supported O/S for TFS installation.
I covered this briefly in this video and more in episode 20 which is where I spent more time talking about the actual VM. You sould ignore this error message, that's what you get when you use the trial VM that I linked to.

I found it rather frustrating to listen for 15m on a 20m video, through all the TFS "stuff," before getting to the ACTUAL topic material, Installing Visual Studio 2010! WTF?
I wasted 15m through things I care NOTHING about. I already have a source control system, SVN, and I have NO interest in changing that over right now. I just want to install VS 2010 and play with it, I want to code, I want to see C#, WPF, the designer surface, the new editor enhancements.
I'm finding this to be a common theme lately, MS seems to be upselling VS 2010 and masquarading TFS in there to sell more TFS licenses. The bait'n'switch is alive and well I see? :<

Flip, I'm sorry you feel that way, but the description for this video clearly spells out Team Foundation Server and that's the primary purpose for this video. Installing Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate is pretty strightforward.

I thought there was a link to a vhd with all of this installed? I see all the links to install everything from 2008 server, vs2010, and tfs. But I thought there was a vhd with this all already installed and configured and all we had to do was mount it. Is that available??
