Rob Short is an operating system pioneer. He helped Microsoft transition from the 1980s with DOS and 16 bit windows into the 32 bit world with Windows NT in the 1990s. More recently, Rob was part of the team that further enhanced windows to take advantage of the 64 bit processors of the new millennium. Today he is the Vice President overseeing development of windows kernel and virtualization technologies.

You can see more Rob here and meet some of the "core" architects he mentions in the video.

Really, really cool video. Rob is cool.
This is one of the best videos I've ever seen on channel9. Except the mad video of Rory touching the Apple-bag... Wink
An interview well worth viewing more than once.

Also, one of my favorites.Smiley

The importance of communication skills especially listening and writing and time management cannot be emphasized too much.

Well done.

Now, when will you be interviewing Dave Cutler?

Cool

Fantastic. I would love to know this guy! I'd go visit him whenever I needed some entertainment and listen to great stories of the beginings of computers...

Good guy... Nice work.
ok, I've been watching channel9 here and there now, but I have created an account now so I can comment on this particular video - it was that good.

First of all Rob Short is the man, put him on more, please!

anyways, good job you've been doing on channel9 people, but I must stress the point of audio levels and camera tehniques - it's my day to day job, so I'm a bit picky about that..

thanks for this great video
