Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 provides users with several new features that improve managing and scheduling jobs on the cluster. The progress of jobs can now be seen easily seen in the Scheduler interface, and tasks can provide custom messages about their progress. The Scheduler also provides detailed troubleshooting information about tasks, allowing admins to quickly see the status of a job and drill down to discover the reasons for any failures. Finally, service balanced scheduling allows HPC Server 2008 to start services as quickly as possible, giving interactive tasks such as SOA jobs fast response time. Watch this video to learn how the new features in the Scheduler make your cluster both more productive and easier to manage.
