On one hand, when you put in the good work to build Visual Studio, IIS and other tools, you deserve to attach a price tag to them. On the other, you have those open source guys who fire up a linux, get an Apache, MySql, Eclipse and some other free framework, and then they can start developing. In comparison, your price tag does become a hurdle .
