There is more to building an application than pressing F5. MSBuild comes with the .NET Framework and is extensible. See how Microsoft MVP Sayed Ibrahim Hashimi extends the build process programmatically, by talking to Twitter upon a successful build. This is an incredible demo. Consistency is a good thing.

What is it? MSBuild Extensibility... this example keeps everyone updated on the status of the build via MSBuild and Twitter!

Toolshed Tooltip #12 - Virtual PC from Episode 2

Virtual PC (VPC) is truly a developer's and tester's best friend. Do you want to run a PC in a Window? Imagine having a virtual image for any product in Beta that does not impact your host machine. For those that are familiar with VPC, you might find some of the settings of interest and how to create and use a dif file. If you are a presenter or teacher, you will love the automatic reset capability (undo). You will want to check this tool out, it is one that Stan and I both use every day.

What is it? Create and run one or more virtual machines on a single computer, each with its own operating system. Switch easily between them like switching applications.

Save time and money as Virtual PC allows you to maintain the compatibility of legacy and custom applications during migration to new operating systems and increases the efficiency of support, development, and training staffs.
Great for isolating Beta Software from your host machine, matching customer configurations, eliminate redundant hardware.

Installation Notes: Undo changes is not the default when setting up a VPC, apply Virtual PC 2007 SP1.

Usage Notes: When starting with a base image, consider making a dif file to keep the master pristine. Run as Admin on Vista.

The web developer community is curious to know what’s new for JScript in IE8. In this show, the JScript Evangelist, Janakiram MSV interviews the program managers who own the key JScript features.

The JScript team is based out of IDC in Hyderabad. We own the scripting engine for IE8 & Silverlight and provide authoring and tooling experience through Visual Studio and IE8. We also engage with the ECMA standards body to drive the JScript standardization process.

This is show is to breifly share the work that we do here. You will hear us talk about the new and improved JScript engine and the Developer Tools that are part of IE8.
