Kyle Groves and Dave Goulet: eLearning app demonstrates WPF goodness

This eLearning video features Kyle Groves and Dave Goulet from LogicBay demoing a prototype they built for 3M. The very cool thing about the app is the browser integration: it is probably the most sophisticated in browser Avalon app created to date. It also features Arik Cohen from the Avalon (er, Windows Presentation Foundation, aka WPF) team showing off WPF/E: a port of the elearning application to a smart phone. Gnarly!

Karsten Januszewski was the camera guy and interviewer.

We start out the meeting "is this the team that's about to get fired?" Hey, the Tablet PC team has its naysayers. :-)

Windows Sideshow Team - Auxiliary Displays (new laptop feature coming next year)

Next year there will be a new feature available on some laptops and Tablet PCs: auxiliary displays. This lets you do some things on your computer without needing to open up the computer and wait for it to start up. See what this new feature is. PDC Dev Team -- Plasma Screen Application at PDC

If you were at the PDC last month you saw these plasma screens all over the place. They use RSS and the new Windows Presentation Foundation. Follow us along to to the PDC and meet the guys who built the screens and see them in use at the PDC. They even used Flickr to distribute attendees' own photos!

Jeff Sandquist, Ernie Booth, Joe Smith are the ones who did this app. Pretty cool!

Scott Isaacs - MSN DHTML Foundation unveiled

Scott Isaacs is one of the inventors of DHTML. He is one of Microsoft's smartest Web developers and built a framework that's being used on Start.com, the future Hotmail, and other places like the new gadgets in Windows Vista. Hope you enjoy meeting Scott, sorry for the bad lighting at the beginning. If you've done any AJAX development, you'll find this one interesting and you'll get a look at some bleeding-edge Web development that MSN is doing.

Kirk Glerum and Mike Hollinshead - Watson (what happens when your system crashes?)

North Face Demo at the PDC

This is one of the coolest applications we've seen at the PDC. Here's a video of the North Face demo that was shown off during Jim Allchin's keynote at the PDC. This demo rocks and it was all done in Windows Presentation Foundation (formerly Avalon).
