In Part 1 of this interview, we talked with Wayne Ruting, CEO of Decentrix, about the importance of business intelligence in a Media & Entertainment company. Decentrix has quite a client roster, including some of the largest broadcasters, cable operators, and telcos in the US. We talk about why BI matters, how BI is not simply providing reports in a transactional application, and we learn more about Decentrix and their BIAnalytix offering.
In part 2 of this interview, we will see a demo of BIAnalytix.

<evnet:views>7658</evnet:views><evnet:viewtrackingurl>http://channel9.msdn.com/478588/WebViewBug.aspx?EVT=0</evnet:viewtrackingurl><evnet:previewtext>In this episode, host Kirk Evans talks with Dr. Michael Ludwich, VP of Consulting at Decentrix, where Dr. Ludwich provides a demonstration of the BIAnalytix solution. This quite an interesting demonstration, helping to show the value of BI in a media organization. Pavel did an internship in the Research in Software Engineering team (RiSE) investigating automatic data generation methods for parameterized SQL queries. In this video, he shows the result of his 3-month work. Qex translates SQL queries to logic formulas and give to our in-house constraint solver, Z3. When Z3 finds a solution, Qex translates that solution back to SQL code that can be executed in the database. This is similar to how Pex works.

In this geekSpeak webcast, James Johnson provides an overview of working with SQL Data Services—what it is, how it works, why you would want to use it, and why it is so cool. James highlights how to get started, shows to interact with the service, and steps through building an application.

The geekSpeak webcast series brings you industry experts in a "talk-radio" format hosted by developer evangelists from Microsoft. These experts share their knowledge and experience about a particular developer technology and are ready to answer your questions in real time during the webcast. Your hosts for this geekSpeak are Lynn Langit and Lindsay Rutter. To ask a question in advance of the live webcast, or for post-show resources, be sure to visit the geekSpeak blog.
