A Look at VPlay on Microsoft Surface

Stuart Taylor is a researcher at MSR Cambridge and in his spare time he likes to mix bits as a VJ. He created an application called VPlay that allows him to mix video on a Surface like you would records on a DJ turntable. He stopped by the Channel 9 studio on his way to dinner last week and took a few minutes to show us how VPlay works.

First on Office 2007 in Singapore (Maybe Even APAC) - Vincent Oh Gives Us a Quick Tour...

Vincent Oh (IW Product Manager), Stanley Tan (Academic Program Manager) and Chewy Chong (Developer Evangelist) were the first ever to install the newly released Office 2007 in Singapore (and probably all of Asia Pacific). In this quick little video, they brag about this point and show the first DVD made of Office 2007 in Singapore plus the first laptop to receive Office 2007. Vincent also shows us a few quick “cool new features” of Office 2007.

Windows Vista WAVE - Windows Audio Video Excellence

Back in January of 2006, Scoble visited Steve Ball, Kirt Debique and the WAVE (Windows Audio Video Excellence) team to discuss their contributions to Windows Vista. WAVE is the team responsible for Audio and Video infrastructure in Windows including, among other things AV class drivers, rendering and capture APIs (including DirectShow and Media Foundation), and end to end AV performance.

We also get a preview of a feature called "glitch resilience" that enables very high quality audio and video playback performance on Windows Vista, even in resource-constrained situations.
