Iterasi Now Supported in IE 8.0

Iterasi has now updated their browser add-on to support the latest version of Internet Explorer – IE 8.0. With this add-on installed, you can bookmark web pages for later viewing. But Iterasi is no ordinary social bookmarking service – it lets you dynamically bookmark the sorts of pages that can change over time. With today’s modern web technologies like CSS, AJAX, and other database-driven content, the page you may want to bookmark may not look the same or contain the same information the next time you return to view it. Iterasi can help as it lets you save these sorts of dynamically generated web pages in their current state.

The service also includes a scheduler function if you want to keep an eye on a web page that changes a lot. Instead of having to return day-after-day to take a new snapshot, you can configure Iterasi to do so for you.

To get the new add-on for Internet Explorer, head over to the Iterasi download page. The browser extension works in IE 7 and IE 8 on XP and Vista (and likely Windows 7 Beta, too.)

Thanks @corvida!

Foxmarks Comes to IE

Foxmarks, a well-known and much beloved bookmark synchronization add-on for Firefox is now branching out to (finally!) support other browsers, including both Internet Explorer and Safari. What’s really great about the new tools from Foxmarks is that you’re able to sync your bookmarks between browsers, not just between Firefox installs or just between IE installs. So for example, if you primarily use one type of browser at work and another at home, you could have access to your bookmarks from anywhere – you don’t need to run a particular browser to do do.
IE8 Accelerator for FriendFeed

There are only a few things that get me downright giddy when it comes to technology, but shiny new objects having to do with FriendFeed certainly make the list. That’s why I was excited to come across Adam Kinney’s new IE8 Accelerator for FriendFeed, Based on the IE Accelerator for Twitter, his FriendFeed Accelerator uses the new web browser’s built-in feature called accelerators - add-ons that allow you to access contextual menu options upon right-click. The menu options can either access web services or direct you to a new web page.

With the FriendFeed Accelerator, you can capture text on a web page and send it to straight to FriendFeed’s share page with pre-filled fields. The Accelerator will grab the URL and title of the page as the text.

If you haven’t checked out Accelerators yet, you should. They are one of my favorite new features in IE8. So far, I’ve installed Accelerators for Sharing, including ones that let me share to Facebook, Delicious, Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, and of course, Hotmail. I’ve also added Search Accelerators like Find on Facebook and Find on LinkedIn as well as those that let me search Wikipedia, Amazon, and New York Times.

You can find these and more in the IE8 Add-ons Gallery.

Feeds Plus: Enhanced Feed Reading in IE7

Feeds Plus is an "unofficial" IE7 add-on developed by Nate Furtwangler and Chrix Finne, both of whom interned with the IE RSS Team. The Feeds Plus add-on they created during this time brings aggregation and notification to your IE7 feed reading experience. With Feeds Plus, feeds can be grouped within a folder and read as an aggregated feed, and this feed can be searched, sorted, and filtered just like you can with non-aggregated feeds.

A second feature is a pop-up feed notification reminiscent of Outlook’s. You can decide which feeds matter most to you and then be notified with this pop-up as soon as those feeds have new items waiting. The pop-up is unobtrusive - it fades in and out - and it includes a handy link to the feeds that it’s announcing. For more info on Feed Plus check out this blog post at the Microsoft RSS blog.
