MapR Technologies, Inc., which distributes Apache Hadoop technology for big data deployments, announced today at Hadoop Summit it will make the MapR Distribution including Apache Hadoop available on Microsoft Azure beginning this summer. The MapR Distribution will also be integrated with the Azure Data Lake, which means users can deploy tiered analytical and storage capabilities in the cloud.
