Congrats, and great motivation, now I want to make that Windows app!

    • JavaDev

Very encouradging!! Hope, it's true, need to do Windows8 programming ASAP :-)

    • Nick

      Very impressive!

    • RubyL

Congrats, I always loved Windows development, now I can make some cash on it Smiley Would you recommend JavaScript/HTML5 or C#/XAML?

    • Striker
@RubyL: RubyL, you can choose any technology you are comfortable with. Both JavaScript/HTML5 and C#/XAML let you write high performance native Windows 8 apps, talk directly to the hardware. If you are familiar with Web development, JS is awesome, if you know .NET, you can use XAML. You can also mix languages in one solution: call a .NET or C++ assembly|library from a JavaScript app. It is your choice, as long as the app is good Smiley
    • Ted

Thanks for sharing, great story. I hope I can start building my app soon.

    • cedricmi

      Congrats on the success!

I would welcome non-game examples of people earning money with apps though, it's like IOS and Android it seems 95% of money to be done is in games only.

    • Striker
@cedricmi:Agree, would be nice to see that. I think Windows has an interesting potential to include other high earning segments, because of its traditional roots in enterprise as well.
    • HolgerSinn

      Congrats .. well done

@cedricmi - Watch this video where a Physics student who made a Calculator app for Windows Phone, got over 500,000 downloads.  The Calculator app was his first app for Windows Phone ever:
