Description
*UPDATE* This was recorded in October 2015 and a lot has changed for Groups since. eDiscovery support along with many changes.
There's a lot of confusion these days around Office 365 Groups vs SharePoint Team Sites and which you should use and when. The thing is, they aren't something to compete with one another as Groups isn't really a product, it USES a SharePoint Team Site. Therefore, they are really one and the same when it comes to collaboration on files. The difference is that Groups also ties in the rest of the Office suite to enhance your user's experience.

TimOdell It is understood that there are pros and cons between choosing between SP Team Site and a Group site. The problem and question most people have regarding choosing between the two is if choosing Groups paints yourself into a corner? What if you want to upgrade after the Group Site maturizes and requires more features and structure offered by SP?
-
bniaulin @TimOdell: That will soon be over as there will be no difference between Groups vs SP Site (one will and does always come with the other)
