Azure Allows Active Data to Plan Costs and Scale Performance

Active Data creates products that help people arrange their world. Its SaaS platform, Active Calendar, helps users conquer the complex calendaring problems for a business. If a customer holds events, Active Data provides a cost-effective event ticketing and promotion tool, WhenNow.

Active Data used Microsoft Azure to form a constellation of computer and storage assets that allows Active Data to plan costs and scale performance as its products gain traction. Instead of setting up clusters of SQL databases and managing them individually, Active Data built a robust data platform on Azure SQL database PaaS and now allows Microsoft algorithms to help tune and grow the dataspace. Active Data's front end relies on Microsoft's Web Apps to handle inbound load and to auto-scale accordingly.

"Microsoft's Azure cloud has enabled Active Data to quickly and efficiently deliver two products to customers. Not only do we have a partner in Microsoft, they have our back as we grow," said Active Data president David Van Allen.
