KNIME has launched the KNIME Cloud Analytics Platform, the first time the open-source KNIME Analytics Platform has been available as a public cloud service. KNIME chose the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to launch the new service.
Customers who need end-to-end analytics can immediately use KNIME's visual software to perform complex analysis on a scalable, reliable, on-demand infrastructure without the need for software installation. This new capability allows immediate and effortless trial of the open source software platform for new users. Experienced power users can perform cloud-based workflow execution, freeing them from the constraints of their laptops.
"We're pleased that KNIME Cloud Analytics Platform has chosen to launch its open-source analytics platform on Microsoft Azure. KNIME's demanding community of data scientists requires reliable, scalable, worldwide infrastructure which Microsoft Azure provides," said Nicole Herskowitz, senior director of product marketing, Microsoft Azure.
Azure allows KNIME Analytics Platform to be run on a virtual machine using computer hardware that may be scaled on-demand to meet customer requirements. The result for customers is lower fixed costs and a more agile analytics capability.
