SoftNAS is a provider of software-defined NAS solutions that protect mission-critical data for customers using any combination of public, private, and hybrid clouds. The company has announced the availability of its newest release of SoftNAS Cloud that utilizes the wide spectrum of data stores available from the Microsoft Azure cloud platform ranging from high performance SSD-based to Azure Cool Blob storage. Azure customers using SoftNAS Cloud can now achieve both petabyte-scale file storage and the best combination of cost, scale, data protection and high-availability (HA).
The company delivers its enterprise-class NAS filer as a virtual appliance supporting multiple protocols including NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, and AFP. With SoftNAS, legacy apps transfer seamlessly to the cloud without re-architecting or recoding. SoftNAS Cloud brings enterprise NAS features such as de-duplication and compression to Azure.
