Node.js Tools for Visual Studio
Up until now I had only heard about Minecraft. One of my friends suggested I take a look. When I initially played I honestly did not get all of the hype. After a couple of tutorial videos I began to understand the amount of creativity that one could employ in a world of our own making (insert sappy life analogy here if you wish). After a bit I also learned that you can create collaborative worlds where you could be creative with friends and family by standing up a Minecraft server. I wanted to see how hard it would be to do exactly that using the power of Azure: so I made a video! Take a look.
Couldn't get this to work against a West US resource (failed after two hours, every time) but it was easy once I chose East US. Next question: how do I configure this thing now that it is running? (I know close to nothing about Minecraft, its for my son).
... and when you are finished you make an image of the VM and pickup where you left. :P
Nice post! Could set it up and run it following your instructions.
Where is Minecraft installed on this Ubuntu image in order to tweak the server.properties for it? Does somebody know. Have already looked in the home directory but could find any dot file for minecraft.
Anywhere else I should look?
