Q1:  What are the Registration hours?
A1:  Hint:  Check-in on Sunday and avoid the Monday morning rush!  If you are not able to check-in on Sunday, please plan to arrive at Registration on Level 2 starting at 7:00am on Monday to check-in prior to the Keynote Session.

  • Sunday, May 11:  7:00am – 9:00am (Pre-Con attendees only); 9:00am – 7:00pm (ALL attendees). Registration is also available on Sunday, May 11 at the Microsoft Store inside the Galleria Mall from 10:00am – 7:00pm
  • Monday, May 12:  7:00am – 9:00pm
  • Tuesday, May 13:  7:00am – 6:30pm
  • Wednesday, May 14:  7:00am – 6:30pm
  • Thursday, May 15:  7:00am – 4:30pm

Q2:  Where is Registration?
A2:  Once you arrive at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRBCC) please proceed to Level 2.

Q3:  What is the shuttle schedule?
A3:  The shuttle schedule is available at and on page 14 of the conference guide, which you'll receive at Materials Distribution when you register.  Important note: Transfer time between hotels in the Galleria area and the convention center is approximately 20-25 minutes. During heavy traffic, it could take up to 45 minutes.  Please plan your arrival time accordingly; especially for Monday's Keynote.

Q4:  Will there be shuttle service to and from the Closing Party? A4:  Yes. There will be Continuous shuttle service between TechEd hotels and Minute Maid Park on Thursday, May 15, 7:15pm – 11:45pm.

Q5: Where is the Information Center in the GRBCC?
A5:  You'll find the Information Centers on Level 1 in Halls CD at the main entrance to TechExpo, and on Level 2 near the Skybridge to the Hilton. Both locations are staffed during all conference hours. In addition, Roaming Information Staff wearing bright green shirts can be found throughout the convention center.

Q6:  Where can I recharge my electronics?  
A6:  There are Recharge Lounges in the TechEd Commons in Hall E, on Level 3 in the Grand Ballroom Lounge, Level 2 Hilton Americas and throughout the TechExpo, Halls CD. As a benefit for TechEd Alumni, you can recharge your electronics in the Alumni Lounge (see page 40 of your conference guide for hours).

Q7:  Will there be lunch for pre-con attendees?
A7:  Yes.  Pre-Conference Seminar attendees will receive a lunch ticket when they register onsite with the time and location of lunch for Sunday, May 11. 

Q8:  Where can I get a map of the venue?
A8:  You can get a map of the event here: See the TechEd map on pages 6-9 of your conference guide, which you'll receive at Registration.

Q9:  Where do I get the TechEd App?
A9:  Plan your schedule from the web site or one of several apps! Get direct access to the TechEd Schedule Builder, Speaker info, news posts, maps and more with the Channel 9 Events app for Windows 8, Windows Phone, iOS or Android. Search the app store for "Ch9 Events" or

Q11:  Where can I acquire session materials?
A11:  Session materials are distributed digitally and are associated with sessions within the content catalog at are available 24-48 hours after the session is presented. After TechEd, session recordings can be found at

Q12:  Where is TechExpo being held?
A12:  The TechExpo: Partner Solutions and Microsoft Solutions Experience are located in Halls CD of the GRBCC. A floor plan of the hall is located on page 56 of your conference guide, which you'll receive at Registration, in your conference materials. Floor plans are also available at
