I picked up a black Xbox controller last night at Target. I love it.

I was wondering this too. I mean no shot at MS, but is the actual hardware updated at all lessening the chances of getting the fabled Red Rings of Death? Or is it the exact same system in black and with HDMI port?

I recently read that the strip where your fingers lay is different, and therefore feels a little better and fits the hands better.

I don't see it though, it looks like the exact same thing but in black. One thing I noticed though is the Xbox light stands out much better being on a black background.

Yes, it plays better due to the placebo effect. Wink

From what I've read, the Elite is geared toward new platform users, not those of us who have already invested in the 360.  While I'd like to upgrade to a 360 with HDMI, I'd prefer it in white and really can't see the value in upgrading now.  Not to mention, there is no trade-in agreement for the few that want to upgrade.

I haven't really touched my 360 in a few weeks now.  I got Oblivion for my PS3 and have been completely glued to it.  I got fed up with the 360 version.  A critical bug prevented me from finishing the game, but the PS3 version has been smooth sailing. Smiley

What was the error? I put 80 hours into Oblivion, every achievement, and it was fine. What was the deal?

Have Microsoft released any details on when other regions will get it  ?, in particular europe. It all depends on the price on whether i get one despite already owning one, yes im a sucker, but i want some Yang to go with my Yin.

The 360 continues to sell well here in the U.K and in other parts of western europe

Personally i prefer the black casing as opposed to the white, it looks meaner. LS

What price in it being retailed at? over there.

I actually ran into several bugs in several diferent games.

First and foremost...I would grab Sigil Stones and oblivion gates would not close.  Ever.  They would just remain open indefinately.

In one game I ran into the bug where I could not finish "Where spirits have a lease" because the guy who sold me the house was unwilling to go back there and open the chamber in the basement.  Even after I got his disposition to maximum, he was unwilling to go.

In "When the Vow breaks" I killed the guy who had Rockshatterand it flew into and clipped the wall so I could never get it to finish the quest.

In one mages guild quest, The mage who worked in the Observation tower would never come out so I could never get in to speak with him.  I went so far as to babysit my 360 a whole day to see if he would ever come out, but he never did...ever.

I learned to save often and keep multiple saves on file, that way I could load up previous saves if something went amiss.

I have looked into all these bugs and they are all documented on certain websites.  While most were common on the PC, there are indeed cases where they have appeared on the 360 too...bummer.  Fortunately, most of these issues were resolved when the game was debuged and ported to the PS3.  I did finish the main quest on the 360 once...but could never finish all the secondary stuff.  Now I'm trying to tackle every quest in the game on the PS3.  Hopefully, I won't run into any cripling bugs this time.
