If you’re interested in creating a web slice for the readers of your blog, you should go check out these two tutorials from the Digital Inspiration blog. Here, Amit shows you how you can write a web slice for your WordPress blog or, if you are hosting your blog on a platform like Blogger, TypePad, etc., there are even simpler instructions here.
This second method is actually a great way to make a web slice for any RSS feed you want to track in your browser – and you don’t need to code or do anything technical to create this one. In fact, all you have to do is go to the LiveSlices gallery and click the “Install” button next to the “Feed Slice” option. Then you can just enter the URL of the RSS feed you want to follow. Once the feed is verified, you just add it to your Favorites bar. Here's the one Amit made, as an example.
Note that feed slices won’t include your site’s favicon and you won’t know how many people subscribe. Still, it’s a much simpler way of creating a Web Slice without needing to have any technical knowledge.
