New Beta of Microsoft Security Essentials Arrives

The free security software called Microsoft Security Essentials has been updated to a new version, available for download from here. This anti-malware program now includes several new features like Windows Firewall integration (it asks if you want the firewall on), IE integration (for protection against Web-based threats), an updated protection engine for enhanced detection and cleanup, improved performance and a network inspection system for protection against network-based exploits.

If you’re already running a previous version of this program, you’ll need to head over to the Microsoft Connect page to get the updated beta, available in both x86 and x64 versions.
