At the E3 Expo, Microsoft announced that the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter will be coming to the Xbox LIVE service as well as music streaming site Last.fm. The social network integration will arrive by way of what are basically client apps built right into the dashboard. (Gizmodo has some pictures of this from the presentation).
Just as exciting was the announcement that the Facebook Connect standard will be made available to game developers, allowing players to broadcast gaming activities directly to Facebook. One of the first games to take advantage of Facebook Connect is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 which will let players link their Xbox LIVE gamertag to their Facebook profile. They’ll then be able to play the game with Facebook friends and even post screenshots of the game right to their Facebook profile.
