Description

So there is a lot of excitement around another game launching soon, but what about Star Trek Legacy, the game that could go down in history as 'the first Star Trek game not to suck'.

Star Trek Legacy

I'm pumped for this game, more than Gears at this point, what about you?

Well, I'm going to be honest here and say that I'm not really into Star Trek (however, I liked "The Next Generation" series, "STII: The Wrath of Khan" and "ST: First Contact" , the Borg, and of course, Spock rules!), but I would like to see a "good" Star Trek game made. I believe "Shattered Universe" was the most recent console game and it's too bad it got disappointing reviews.

I'm surprised a "good" Star Trek has not been made for a long time...hopefully, this new one for the next-gen consoles will have great gameplay.

BTW, Gears of War is STILL on my top list for this year (Call of Duty 3 is #2). I have a feeling GoW is just gonna pwn =)

Oh goodie, it's going to be released on the PC as well, and for less than 59.99 no doubt. I haven't played a Star Trek game since hmm, maybe 88? On the Atari ST, this was... I have to admit, I'm also a bigger TNG fan than a fan of the original series).

PS: Thanks for backing me up over on that other blog.

This game does look like it has the potential to be a great Star Trek game as I have seen and heard a lot of good things about it thus far. The idea of having massive space battles in the Star Trek universe does sound really cool. I can only hope that it will be as good as the claims that are being made and I guess we will find out really soon. It would be awesome to have a good Star Trek game for a change!

I'm a former Star Trek fan and I've played many of the games, but I don't think they all sucked.  The Elite Force, Academy, and Bridge Commander games were all decent.  There haven't been any decent console Trek games since Starfleet Academy on the SNES, however, so I'm pleased to hear that Legacy is coming along nicely.

We'll have to play Legacy online together after its released, Duncan.  I see you playing Lego Star Wars II all the time.

    Re: Lego Star Wars II
It is quite possibly my son... with me sometimes and sometimes I'm just cleaning up the house around him Smiley

On the other hand, if you see me playing LOTR or Oblivion... well, that is definitely me Smiley

If I can fly the Defiant, then sign me up!  Huge DS9 fan here (oh and Enterprise was good too)!

I'm still a little confused though.  Is it an RTS?  Is it some sort of hybrid game?  I'm really interested in seeing gameplay footage.

Yep, the Defiant is in there... or at least a ship of that class... as far as the type of game, gameplay footage, etc... well, I'll see what I can do

Ahhh, noted.  I love LEGO Star Wars II myself, but I have it for the Gamecube.  I couldn't see spending an extra $10 for a game that offered no next gen content.  LEGO Star Wars aside...

If I'm gaming on my 360 and see your gamertag playing Oblivion or LOTR, I'll send you a chat or game invitation.  Later. Smiley
